Enhanced the ToDo schedule configuration in RegControls with a new Recurrence Pattern field that gives Administrators, SmartFolder Owners, and Content Developers greater control over how upcoming due dates are calculated and distributed. Previously, ToDo due dates were calculated solely based on the initial due date and frequency, with no option to specify which day of the week or month future due dates should fall on. The Recurrence Pattern field resolves this by allowing users to define a consistent, predictable pattern for all upcoming due dates independent of the initial due date.
What Has Changed
The ToDo schedule configuration pop-up now includes a Recurrence Pattern field that becomes enabled when a supported frequency is selected. The field presents different options depending on the chosen frequency, and the schedule preview automatically updates to reflect the next three upcoming distribution dates and their corresponding due dates based on the selected pattern.
Frequencies: Every Week and Every 2 Weeks
When the frequency is set to Every Week or Every 2 Weeks, the Recurrence Pattern field provides the following options:
- Same as initial due date
- Sunday
- Monday
- Tuesday
- Wednesday
- Thursday
- Friday
- Saturday
Selecting “Same as initial due date” calculates all upcoming due dates based on the same day of the week as the initial due date. Selecting a specific day of the week sets all future due dates to fall on that day, regardless of the selected initial due date.
Example: If the frequency is set to Every Week, the initial due date is August 3, 2026, and the recurrence pattern is set to Wednesday, the next three upcoming due dates are August 12, 2026, August 19, 2026, and August 26, 2026 — regardless of the selected initial due date.
Monthly and Multi-Year Frequencies (Every Month through Every 10 Years)
When the frequency is set to Every Month, Every Quarter, Every 6 Months, Every Year, Every 18 Months, Every 2 Years, Every 3 Years, Every 4 Years, Every 5 Years, Every 6 Years, Every 7 Years, or Every 10 Years, the Recurrence Pattern field provides the following options:
- Same day of month as initial due date
- 1st Day of the Month
- 15th Day of the Month
- 1st through 4th Monday of the Month
- 1st through 4th Tuesday of the Month
- 1st through 4th Wednesday of the Month
- 1st through 4th Thursday of the Month
- 1st through 4th Friday of the Month
- 1st through 4th Saturday of the Month
- 1st through 4th Sunday of the Month
Selecting “Same day of month as initial due date” calculates all upcoming due dates based on the same day of the month as the initial due date. Selecting any other option sets all future due dates to fall on the chosen day pattern within each applicable period, regardless of the selected initial due date.
Example: If the frequency is set to Every Month, the initial due date is August 3, 2026, and the recurrence pattern is set to 4th Monday of the Month, the next three upcoming due dates are September 28, 2026, October 26, 2026, and November 23, 2026 — regardless of the selected initial due date.
Schedule Preview
The schedule preview automatically regenerates each time a frequency or recurrence pattern is changed, displaying the next three upcoming distribution dates and their corresponding due dates. This allows users to verify the pattern before saving the schedule.
